Entry fees are:  $125 for both Compulsory and Optional.  $100 for Compulsory or Optional.

There are 2 scheduled Pre-Elite/Hopes Qualifiers scheduled for the second half of the season. Lisa Spini of Desert Lights gymnastics will be hosting the first on June 10, 2009..  All of the information is below. Please post this information on all of your web sites as soon as you can.  The entry fee is $100 dollars for one of the sessions, and $125 dollars for both.  Please make checks payable to region 1 and send entries to Jen Shipman.  3 Atherton Island, Stockton CA 95204.

Optionals at 10:00 AM and Compulsories at 2:00 PM.  That will make it possible for people to fly in and out of Sky Harbor on the same day if they want to--it's only 10 minutes from the gym.  The meet will be at the gym:  6175 W. Detroit Street, Chandler, AZ   85226, phone:  (480) 940-4041.  If anyone is need of a hotel, there are two, right across from the gym:  Comfort Inn, 255 N. Kyrene Rd., Chandler, AZ  85226, phone:  (480) 705-8882.  There is also an all-suite hotel right next to it.  If they are interested in that, they can call me and I will get them that info.  They can also call me if they are coming in early and would like practice times.

Arete Gymnastics

McKenna Singley, age 11, Brittany Jeppesen, age 10, and Khyla Pottenger, age 9, from USA Gymnastics World in Bountiful, qualified for the 2008 USA Gymnastics National TOPs Testing, which took place on October 3-5, in Houston, Texas at the Women’s National Team Training Center located at the Bela Karolyi Gymnastics Camp.
 
TOPs is a Talent Opportunity Program for female gymnasts ages 7-11 and their coaches. During the summer, gymnasts were evaluated on physical abilities at the state or regional level. From the more than 2,500 participants, 300 gymnasts qualified to participate in the national TOPs testing. From there approximately 60 gymnasts made the TOPs National Team.
 
Several days after testing, the TOPs staff informed each gymnastic club of the testing results. Khyla Pottenger made the TOPs National Team and will attend the "A" Team camp at Bela Karolyi
Gymnastics Training Center on December 3-7, 2008. Brittany Jeppesen made the "B"
Team and will go to the camp December 7-11, 2008. McKenna Singley was injured prior to the TOPs testing.
