Open State Meeting Minutes
May 31, 2008

7:30 PM
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 PM by Cathy Bennion,
State Administrative Committee Chair.
The committee members in attendance were introduced and
positions explained.
Linda Fenton: Judges Rep/Test Administrator/CPE Coordinator
Charity Greene: Secretary
Katy Heddens: Safety Certification/Secretary
Dan Coleman: Southern Clubs Rep
Luke Evans: Central Club Rep
Fred Gunderson: Northern Clubs Rep/State Meet advisor
Ryan Kirkham: (Absent) Tops and Elite Rep
Cathy once more asked for everyone to take her hotmail
account off of their contact list and replace it with cbennion@usagutah.com.
Cathy expressed her thanks to Steve Bailie for setting
up her account associated with the web site.
State Meet Accepted Bids were announced:
- Fall State Championships: NAWGJ
- Optional State Championships: Barefoot Gymnastics
- Spring State Championships: Elite Gymnastics
Katy Heddens took the floor to
encourage clubs to possibly compete their Level 3’s
in the fall (only) to add to dwindling numbers for Fall
Meets. It will be placed on the survey for feedback from
the clubs.
Cathy will be finishing the survey soon and it
will be sent to all clubs. Also, a judge’s recommendation
form will be sent to all optional clubs for input to help
in the selection process for Regionals and Nationals.
Elections for the State Committee will be held in July
with the term of office beginning August 1, 2008. Look
for the information to send your resume in the near future.
Cathy encouraged all of our membership to make sure they
were current with their background check and safety certification.
All members renewing must complete the background check
and be currently safety certified.
The State Calendar Draw took place:
All clubs with representatives in attendance at the meeting
were drawn first for their dates followed by those who
contacted me with their information. The draw for dates
will be posted on the web site and those dates will be
confirmed.

work out exchanges, that is fine. Please make sure all
changes are sent to Cathy Bennion and the webmaster.
